Codebase cleanup

Remove anything a Theme Store reviewer should never unzip.
  • ✓ No .git directory in the zip
  • ✓ No node_modules in the zip
  • ✓ No .DS_Store, Thumbs.db, or editor junk
  • ✓ No .env or secrets files
  • ✓ No leftover build caches unless required for the theme
02

Theme Store packaging rules

Shopify only wants theme folders merchants install — not your tooling.
  • ✓ Only Theme Store–allowed directories are included (assets, blocks, config, layout, locales, sections, snippets, templates)
  • ✓ Dev-only tooling folders excluded (.github, build scripts, non-theme src, etc.)
  • ✓ No .scss / .scss.liquid files
  • ✓ No pre-minified CSS/JS except allowed exceptions (ES6 / third-party libs)
  • ✓ Zip opens to the theme root (not a nested empty wrapper folder)
03

Version & release notes

  • ✓ Version number bumped for this submission
  • ✓ Release notes written for merchants (what changed)
  • ✓ Version and notes match Partner Dashboard fields
04

Demo store & listing readiness

  • ✓ Demo store uses real photography and real copy (no Lorem Ipsum)
  • ✓ Each preset has a matching demo store
  • ✓ Public documentation URL ready
  • ✓ Support / contact form URL ready
05

Pre-upload gates

Do not upload until these are green.
  • ✓ Submission scorecard has zero Fail items (N/A OK)
  • ✓ Development checklist critical areas completed for changed pages
  • ✓ Lighthouse Performance ≥ 60 recorded (mobile + desktop)
  • ✓ Lighthouse Accessibility ≥ 90 recorded (mobile + desktop)
  • ✓ Theme Check / lint clean on the packaged tree
